“This site relates to my personal experiences with coming forward about Historic Child abuse. It shows just how difficult it can be in some cases and the hurdles that survivors still face with trying to achieve justice. You cannot always say when you are able to speak out; the time is only right for you when it’s right. Trauma affects us all in different ways but abuse of this nature, especially historical abuse, is difficult to admit to and speak about. When you do, you are still the child that was abused all these years ago, not the adult you are today. Those that have been brave enough to speak out have had immense courage and bravery to do so. It’s never easy to speak out. But doing so empowers you again and you have no shame in doing so. The shame is not yours and never will be. I’ve waived my anonymity in the hope I can help others speak out too.”
